Documentaries, coverage, and stories that keep the ABA’s history and the players who lived it in front of new audiences.
The Waiting Game
This documentary follows the Dropping Dimes Foundation’s fight to win former ABA players the recognition and benefits they say they were promised but never received. Set against a league, the NBA, that now generates billions a year, the film tracks the legal history of the ABA-NBA merger and the ongoing effort to secure basic dignity and support for the men who built the game.
Soul Power
Released for the ABA-NBA merger’s 50th anniversary, Soul Power: The Legend of the American Basketball Association is the first docuseries devoted to the league. Executive produced by Julius “Dr. J” Erving, Common, and George Karl, it traces the ABA’s nine-season run and its lasting influence on the sport, from the three-point shot to the slam dunk contest, through the voices of the players and personnel who lived it.
Long Shots
