They gave us the modern game of basketball. Now it’s our turn.
Our main focus and concern is for the well-being and betterment of former players of the American Basketball Association and their families, who are experiencing financial or medical difficulties and have encountered significant financial hardship or sickness.
In 2022, the Dropping Dimes Foundation was able to work with the NBA and the NBPA to establish “Recognition Benefits” to be paid out to many former ABA players in recognition of their tremendous contributions to today’s game of pro basketball. The NBA is fully responsible for all aspects of eligibility, timing, calculation and method of payments, and has not yet released any information about the mechanics/timing of the payments.
